  The Literacy Volunteers of Troup County has been providing literacy services to the Troup County area for over 30 years. We provide free tutoring for adults (ages 16 and older).

   

  We offer one-on-one tutoring in reading with a program called Reading Horizons, basic math to Algebra, basic computer skills, typing, Internet, and Microsoft Office 2013.

   Also, we offer ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages).  

 

  We offer free training for all volunteer tutors.

  We support education, health, and income by enabling adults  to achieve personal goals through literacy.

  We are committed to:

       b. The effective use of our volunteers.

       c. Strengthening and improving our organization.



  We are an affiliate of the national organization ProLiteracy and

Literacy Volunteers of Troup County's mission is to actively serve as an outreach to adults throughout our community who desire to learn or improve their skills in reading, math and computer. Through personal one-on-one tutoring, we seek to empower our students to reach their goals and live a more fulfilling life.

We offer a computer-based reading skills program with one-on-one tutoring. (No computer skills necessary).



We offer tutoring in math, basic computer literacy skills, keyboarding (typing), and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages).
